HEALTH REVIEW

Drugs, we all know what are they and some of their effects once we consume them. We also know their harmful consequences, so why young people are fancy to take drugs in the 21st century? Usually young people are fancy to take drugs due to the fact that these can change their way of thinking, making them deal with different certain situations and avoiding problems. This might sound great, but the problem is that drugs really have a detrimental effect in a person life, and not everybody is conscious about this issue. Once we start taking drugs we think we can control the situation, but the thing is that lately, drugs will control us. Providing more information in high schools will eventually make them start thinking if it worth it.
What about rare diseases? This type of diseases do not affect a high percentage of the global population. Rare diseases affects only 5 or less people every 10000. In our country, Spain, 3 million people are affected by this disorder. There are some medicines which are called “Orphan drug” is especially dedicated to the treatment of these diseases. Socially speaking, people affected with this kind diseases, in a 75% of the cases have felt discriminated, we can’t avoid them not to have the defect, but we can avoid making the feel different. We should change this social issue raising awareness of those who are free of diseases through education. We are all the same, so what can we do for them?

Organ Transplants are promoted all over the world, we all know the benefits it have, but we really knew we can help approximately 400 people on their life? This fact really show the importance it have for the community to transplant organs. Only a 3% of the population can donate their organs, and the aim of it are that people in the waiting-list do not die, and that everyone, not mattering their cultural and economic level, has access to transplant. Day by day, people have a better lifestyle, so this is really beneficial for the future, in which we could finally help loads of people to have a better life. What are you waiting?
